The 3 L's are things you should be doing...probably everyday that will help you find ideas for songwriting.
1. Look
It may sound easy and almost too simple but LOOK around you! Song lyrics are out there if you learn how to find them. Look at nature, people walking by, animals in a forest...you get the picture. Keep your eyes peeled and always be looking for that next songwriting topic! And oh yeah...don't forget to check our songwriting blog for ideas too :)
2. Listen
Again, this may sound like a really simple idea for songwriting ideas, but its a great way to learn to learn how to write song lyrics. Sounds are obviuously an important part of music...DUH...but they are also a major source of inspiration for your lyrics. Birds chirping, a couple whispering sweet lines to each other on the train, a father talking to his son, all our sounds we need to listen for to help us get some inspiration for our songwriting
3. Life
Easily our personal favorite at Music by Mandi, and also the easiest for beginners just learning how to write song lyrics. We feel strong emotions towards our personal life experiences...so why not use them to write a song! Use that anger, love, sadness to fuel your passion and lyrics.
